Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff
The Deputy Chief of the National Staff of Pakistan Navy, Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, has taken charge of the naval forces in Pakistan. The Chief of the Navy is the highest-ranking officer in the Pakistani Navy. He reports to the President of Pakistan, and head of state, and is responsible for command, utilization of resources, and naval shore activities. Rear Admiral Qureshi was commissioned in the Pakistan Navy in December 1979. Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff
After completing his initial training at Pakistan naval academy, Admiral Rashid Ahmed completed his postgraduate diploma and master’s degrees in administrative sciences and HR. He also qualified for M.Sc. in war studies (maritime) at the national defense university. He later traveled to France for higher studies and earned his BEMS (post-graduate in higher military studies) from a joint staff college. He currently serves as the Commander Pakistan Fleet.
Hasan Qureshi is a four-star naval officer who took over the command of the Pakistan Navy after Vice-Admiral Muzaffar Hassan was dismissed from military service. He was 49 years old when he died suddenly while serving as the navy’s chief of staff. This made him the first Chief of Staff of Pakistan to die in office. Besides that, his wife was also killed in the incident.
The event was attended by senior officers of the Pakistan Navy. The Vice Chief of Naval Staff congratulated the successful achievement of the objectives and thanked all concerned for their efforts.
